Excellence in Physical Education
Certification Program
In its eighth year, the Excellence in Physical
Education School Certification Award recognizes
Mississippi schools for promoting quality physical
education programs. All public and private schools
are eligible to participate and can qualify for a
Gold, Silver or Bronze level of certification.
Schools are honored at an annual reception at the
Governor’s Mansion.

WORKSITE WELLNESS AWARDS
Since 1992, the Governor’s Commission has
challenged the business community statewide to
improve physical fitness and well-being of its
workforce by recognizing those employers who provide
their employees with opportunities to improve and/or
maintain their individual fitness levels. Award
winners are honored at an annual reception at the
Governor’s Mansion.
